CURRENT CONTEST:
The 2023 Scarecrow Contest! 

The City of Shawano is excited to partner with the Downtown Business Improvement District to expand on their annual Scarecrow Contest.  Starting this year, businesses and residents throughout the City of Shawano will be able to participate in the contest and have a chance at winning one of five $50.00 Chamber Gift Certificates.  There will be 5 prize categories (Best Shawano Small Business Entry, Best Shawano Large Business/Manufacturing Entry, Best Shawano Resident Entry, Best Shawano Non-Profit Entry, and Best Use of the 2023 Homecoming Theme - Retro Rewind: Homecoming Through the Years). 

Voting will take place on the City of Shawano website from October 7th - October 15th, with the winners being announced on October 16th. 

Entries should be able to be on display from at least October 6th through October 15th to allow for viewing during the voting period.

All entries must be submitted to shawanofun@cityofshawano.com by 11:59 pm on October 6, 2023 to be included in the voting. When emailing a photo of your entry, please be sure to include your name, location of the entry, best contact phone number, and what voting category you are entering in. 

Prize Categories explained:

Best Shawano Small Business Entry: any small business located within the City of Shawano.
Best Shawano Large Business/Manufacturing Entry: any large business/manufacturing facility located within the City of Shawano. 
Best Shawano Resident Entry: any resident living within the City of Shawano.
Best Shawano Non-Profit Entry: any City of Shawano based non-profit.
Best Use of the 2023 Homecoming Theme (Retro Rewind: Homecoming Through the Years) Entry: anyone within the City of Shawano (business/resident/non-profit).

Winners will be notified via email on October 16th.  Along with this email, photos of the winning entries will be placed on the City of Shawano (City Talk- Shawano) and Downtown Business District's (Shawano Downtown) Facebook Pages - be sure to like and follow these pages to stay informed on what is going on in our great community!
